Located in the heart of Montréal’s Chinatown on Boulevard Saint-Laurent, Deer Garden has been a familiar name since April 1984. Now celebrating over 42 years at 1162 Boulevard Saint-Laurent, the restaurant—also known in French as Restaurant Jardin du Cerf—has become part of the city’s culinary landscape.

For decades, Deer Garden has stayed true to what matters most: serving honest, comforting Chinese cuisine made with fresh ingredients and care. Many of our dishes still carry the flavors that Montréalers fell in love with back in the 1980s—bringing back memories for longtime customers who have been with us for generations.

We deeply value those loyal guests who helped shape Deer Garden into what it is today. At the same time, we continue to evolve—adapting our menu and approach to meet the tastes of a new generation, including the children and families of our original customers.

More than just a restaurant, Deer Garden is part of a shared cultural story. It reflects the contribution of early Cantonese immigrants who helped build Montréal’s vibrant food scene and Chinatown identity.
